What time does The Apothecary Diaries season 3 come out?

Nippon TV broadcasts each episode Fridays at 11 p.m. JST in its FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT block, and the official site notes that the time can change. Crunchyroll runs on its own clock: it lists the subtitled release for Fridays at 8:00 a.m. PT, which is midnight on Saturday in Japan until US clocks change on November 1.

These are our conversions for October, while the US and Europe are on summer time. Sydney and Melbourne moved to daylight time on October 4, so episode 1 on October 2 reached them an hour earlier than the table shows. The UK and Central Europe set their clocks back on October 25, so from then both columns read one hour earlier there (UK subtitles at 3:00 p.m.). US clocks go back on November 1. Crunchyroll gives its time in PT only, so check its listing again after that date before converting.

The official site and Crunchyroll number episodes across the whole series. Seasons 1 and 2 ran 24 episodes each, so season 3 starts at #49.

Episodes air weekly on Fridays, but neither Nippon TV nor Crunchyroll publishes dates for future episodes, and a broadcast can move. This table lists only episodes that have aired.

Crunchyroll announced on October 15 that the season 3 English dub releases weekly from Friday, October 16. When we checked its series page on October 16, episode #49 was listed with both dub and sub, and #50 and #51 were subtitled only. The fall lineup still lists the dub airtime as TBA, so look for each dubbed episode on the series page rather than at a fixed hour.

When does cour two start?

The official on-air page says cour two airs in April 2027. No day, broadcast slot or streaming date has been announced. Until the production committee publishes one, April 2027 is the only window.

Where can you watch season 3 legally?

Crunchyroll streams season 3 with subtitles in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS and the Indian Subcontinent, according to its fall lineup. Southeast Asia, East Asia and Japan are not in that list. That alone does not prove the show is unavailable there, so check the services in your own country.

In Japan, the official site lists subscription services including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, U-NEXT and ABEMA Premium. They add each episode on Saturday after the Friday broadcast, at times that vary by service; the first episode went up at midnight on October 3.

The film is The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady's Treasure (Japanese title 劇場版 薬屋のひとりごと 亡妃の秘宝). It opens in Japan on December 11, 2026. Crunchyroll says it will release the film in theaters across North America and worldwide, with the date still to be announced.

The production committee's season-and-movie announcement describes it as an all-new story, with the story concept by the novels' author, Natsu Hyuuga. Norihiro Naganuma directs the film, while Akinori Fudesaka directs the TV season. The film adds two original characters: Ruòqíng, a mid-rank consort who died in the inner palace five years earlier, voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro, and her former head maid Yinshan, voiced by Ai Mikami.

The official season description points toward signs of a disaster threatening the country, rumors of a mysterious immortal maiden, and new responsibilities for Jinshi. It says the setting widens from the rear palace into the city and on to a neighboring country.

Avoid searching character names paired with "death," "identity" or "ending" if you want to stay anime-only. Light-novel discussions run well past the television adaptation.

Who is in the cast and staff?

Aoi Yuki returns as Maomao, and Takeo Otsuka returns as Jinshi. Reina Ueda joins as Pai Nyan Nyan (白娘々), the mysterious immortal maiden, per the official broadcast announcement and the season 3 staff and cast page.

Reading first is optional. Natsu Hyuuga writes the novels and Touko Shino illustrates them. In English, J-Novel Club publishes the digital edition (series page) and Square Enix publishes the print edition.
