A short "super teaser" trailer followed at Anime Expo on July 3, and Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the new season. There has been no new Season 2 news from the official site since then, so any specific date you see elsewhere is a guess.

Season 1 was first planned for 2025 and was postponed to 2026. The season covers Coco finding out that magic is drawn, not inherited. It follows her into Qifrey's atelier and through the early apprentice tests, and ends during the Second Test in Serpentback Cave, when Brimmed Caps attack and Qifrey is badly hurt shielding Coco and Tetia (official episode 13 synopsis). Where the anime ends in the manga
Season 1 ends with chapter 23, the last chapter of volume 4. To continue after the anime, start at volume 5, chapter 24. The official site's episode synopses don't give chapter numbers, so this comes from two secondary sources that agree: Anime Filler Guide says episode 13 adapts chapters 22 and 23, and Wikipedia's chapter list puts chapters 18–23 in volume 4 and chapters 24–29 in volume 5. Starting from volume 1 is still worthwhile, because producer Hiroaki Kojima has said some scenes were cut for time, especially in episode 1.
Season 1 covers roughly a quarter of the 16 Japanese volumes, so there is enough material for several more seasons. The official English anime site gives worldwide circulation as "over 9 million copies"; Anime News Network reported 7 million on June 29.

Main characters
Descriptions follow the official English character pages. The Japanese cast comes from the official staff and cast page, and the English dub cast from Crunchyroll's dub announcement. No cast changes have been announced for Season 2.
