There is no release date, trailer, studio or episode count. The next thing actually coming is the theatrical film Solo Leveling -Beyond the System-, announced on July 3, 2026, also with no date.*

What does D&C Media's deck actually say?

D&C Media publishes the original Solo Leveling webtoon and is one of the co-producers Crunchyroll names for the movie. Its investor-relations presentation has a page on the anime with three lines, quoted exactly:

• 애니메이션 1기 2024년 1월 전 12화 방영: Season 1, January 2024, 12 episodes aired
• 애니메이션 2기 2025년 1월 전 13화 방영: Season 2, January 2025, 13 episodes aired
• 애니메이션 3기 확정 (2027년~2028년 예상): Season 3 confirmed (expected 2027–2028)

The same deck's disclaimer says its forward-looking statements are expectations that can change without notice. So the line settles whether Season 3 exists. It does not give a season, month or year.

How long is the wait? (our calculation)

We measured the gaps from the air dates above. Season 2's finale aired on March 30, 2025.

Our read: the movie comes first, and anime films usually get a date many months ahead. With no film date as of September 25, 2026, a Season 3 premiere in early 2027 looks unlikely. The second half of the range, 2028, is the more realistic expectation. That is our inference from the dates, not an announcement.

How does the Beyond the System movie fit?

Aniplex's notice (dated July 4, 2026 in Japan) calls Solo Leveling -Beyond the System- the long-awaited sequel to Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-, made as a theatrical film, and released a teaser video and teaser visual. Crunchyroll's announcement says the film adapts "the next phase of Sung Jinwoo's journey, continuing from where Solo Leveling Season 2 left off". Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media and Kakao Piccoma co-produce it, and A-1 Pictures returns. Anime News Network reports Tao Tajima as director.

Neither Aniplex nor Crunchyroll gives the film a date or a year. Articles that say "2027" do not cite an official source, so we don't repeat that as fact.

Is the movie Season 3? No. D&C Media lists Season 3 separately from the film, and Aniplex describes the film as a sequel to Season 2. Game Rant reported on August 14, 2026 that an early Crunchyroll trailer label calling the film "Season 3" was removed. We couldn't view the original label, so treat that detail as reported, not verified.

Where to read ahead while you wait

The story is finished in print, so you don't have to wait for either the film or Season 3.

• Yen Press comic (print and digital): 15 volumes. Volumes 14 and 15 are titled Side Stories 1 and Side Stories 2, so volume 13 closes the main story. The sequel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, is a separate series.
• Tappytoon: the official English webtoon, read by chapter, including the epilogue.
• The original novel, which the webtoon adapts, is also published in English.

Neither the film nor Season 3 has an announced adaptation range, so we don't give a chapter to start from. Starting at volume 1 of the comic is the safe way to see everything the anime condensed.
