Anime Conventions 2026–2027: 19 US Events by Date and Region

Last checked: September 26, 2026, on each convention's official site, linked in the table. An event is listed only when its organizer publishes both the dates and the venue. Badge prices and hotel blocks change, so the organizer's pages have the final word.

Anime conventions by region

Texas: Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio

• Dallas–Fort Worth: Anime Frontier, December 4–6, 2026 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, is the next large anime con in the metro. Its own tagline is "Anime is bigger in Texas". Dallas's long-running A-Kon is not on this list: its site says there was no 2025 event and that a return in 2026 or 2027 is still being explored.
• Houston: TsumiCon, October 16–18, 2026 at the Houston Marriott Westchase, is a hotel-based event, so the program and the rooms are in the same building.
• San Antonio: San Japan runs Labor Day weekend (September 3–5, 2027) at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and the Grand Hyatt, which sit beside the River Walk.

Pacific Northwest: Seattle and Portland

• Portland: Kumoricon, November 13–15, 2026 at the Oregon Convention Center. It is volunteer-run and has been going since 2003.
• Seattle: Sakura-Con, March 26–28, 2027. Pre-registration is open. The 2026 event was at the Seattle Convention Center, but the site has not yet posted the 2027 building or maps.

Washington, DC area: DC, Maryland, Virginia

• Chantilly, VA: Anime USA, November 20–22, 2026 at the Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles. It is the only event here with badge prices posted: $80 regular, $100 silver (500 available), $160 sponsor (125 available).
• National Harbor, MD: Katsucon, February 12–14, 2027 at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center. The convention and the hotel are one building. The venue's reservations line, listed on the Katsucon site, is (301) 965-4000.
• Washington, DC: Otakon, August 6–8, 2027 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Its 2027 hotel block is already open.

Southeast: Atlanta, Florida, the Carolinas, New Orleans

• Atlanta: two conventions at the Georgia World Congress Center. Anime Weekend Atlanta runs November 19–22, 2026 in Building C. MomoCon runs May 27–30, 2027 in Building B, with the Omni Atlanta and Hilton Signia connected to the center by indoor, air-conditioned walkways.
• Orlando: Holiday Matsuri, December 18–20, 2026, in the Orange County Convention Center's West Concourse. Its 18+ and late-night events are next door at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, which is linked by an indoor walkway.
• Jacksonville: WasabiCon, October 9–11, 2026, at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center.
• Winston-Salem, NC: Triad Anime Con, March 26–28, 2027, at the Benton Convention Center. The Winston-Salem Marriott room rate is $189 a night plus tax, available until March 4, 2027. A $95 "Southern Season Pass" covers Ichibancon, Triad Anime Con and Colossalcon Virginia 2027.
• New Orleans: WasabiCon NOLA, March 26–28, 2027, at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Tickets go on sale soon.

Midwest: Chicago and Detroit

• Detroit: Youmacon, October 29–November 1, 2026, at Huntington Place, over Halloween weekend.
• Chicago: Anime Central, May 14–16, 2027, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont. The organizers say the site is under 30 minutes from downtown Chicago and report more than 36,000 unique attendees.

Northeast: New York and New Jersey

• New York City: Anime NYC, August 26–29, 2027, at the Javits Center. The 2027 hours are Thursday 1–8 pm, Friday and Saturday 10 am–7 pm, and Sunday 10 am–4 pm, with panels until 10 pm Thursday to Saturday.
• New Brunswick, NJ: DerpyCon, October 30–November 1, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick.

California

• Los Angeles: Anime Expo, July 2–5, 2027, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Registration opens later.
• Bay Area: FanimeCon in San Jose has not posted its 2027 dates yet. The 2026 event was May 22–25.

How to choose a convention

• Hotel conventions (TsumiCon, DerpyCon, Anime USA and Katsucon) put the program and your room in one place. The trade-off is elevator queues and early-selling room blocks.
• Convention centers (Anime Expo, Otakon, Anime NYC, MomoCon and Anime Central) have more space, guests and exhibitors, but you walk further and have to book a hotel nearby.
• First con? Pick the closest one with a single-day badge and a program you already enjoy, and go for one day before booking a weekend trip.

How to find an anime convention near you

1. Check the calendar and regions above for the nearest dated event.
2. Confirm the date and venue on the organizer's own website, never from a search snippet or an old article.
3. Read the badge refund and transfer terms, and the costume, prop and bag policies, before you pay.
4. Book hotels through the organizer's hotel page. Official blocks often have the best rate and the shortest walk.

What anime conventions are in Dallas?

Anime Frontier in Fort Worth (December 4–6, 2026) is the next big one in Dallas–Fort Worth. A-Kon, Dallas's long-running convention, has not announced a return date.
